Aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramic substrate is a high-performance ceramic material with aluminum nitride as the main component, which is prepared by powder metallurgy, hot pressing and sintering. It has high thermal conductivity, excellent electrical insulation, good mechanical properties and chemical stability. It is widely used in electronics, semiconductors, aerospace and other fields. It is a key material in modern electronic packaging and heat dissipation technology.

Aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramic substrates are a high-performance electronic material that is widely used in high-power electronic devices due to their excellent thermal conductivity and insulation.


Material properties of aluminum nitride ceramic substrates


· High thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity is about 170-200 W/m·K, far exceeding that of aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃, about 24 W/m·K), close to metallic aluminum, mainly relying on phonon conduction, and the integrity and purity of the lattice structure are the key.
 
· Low thermal expansion coefficient: close to semiconductor materials such as silicon (Si) and gallium arsenide (GaAs) (4.5×10⁻⁶/K), reducing device failure caused by thermal stress.
 
· Excellent insulation: Resistivity>10¹⁴ Ω·cm, suitable for high voltage environments.
 
· Mechanical properties: flexural strength 300-400 MPa, high hardness but high brittleness, processing requires caution.
 
· Chemical stability: resistant to high temperature and corrosion, but hydrolysis may occur in a humid environment (surface coating protection is required).

The preparation of aluminum nitride ceramic sheets usually includes the following steps:
 
1. Powder preparation: Select high-purity aluminum nitride powder and refine it to micron level by ball milling and other methods.
 
2. Molding: Use dry pressing, injection molding or tape casting technology to press the powder into the desired shape.
 
3. Sintering: Pressureless or hot pressing sintering is performed at high temperature (1600-2000℃), and sintering aids such as Y₂O₃ are added to reduce the sintering temperature.
 
4. Post-processing: Improve surface flatness and performance through polishing, coating and other processes.
